Concrete Protection and Secondary Containment
Description
Concrete structures at mineral processing sites often have to contain toxic liquids or are exposed to corrosive conditions. Concete protection is required.
Secondary containment bunds will usually require an internal lining to protect the environment from leaks. Many lining systems cannot withstand the chemicals or movement of the concrete.
Other structures such as plinths, and column supports gradually erode away as chemical attack and break down the concrete.
Long-term protection of these important assets is important to avoid costly leaks or major maintenance. Nukote ST polyurea is proven for lining secondary containment bunds and protecting concrete structures from degradation. Nukote XT Plus is recommended for exposure to stronger acids.
The Challenges
Concrete Protection from BSC
BSC's expert teams have sprayed fast-set Nukote ST pure polyurea for secondary containment bunds and concrete protection on hundreds of concrete structures.
Nukote ST combines very good chemical and abrasion resistance with flexibility and low moisture vapour permeability. For high chemical exposure, particularly strong acids, we recommend Nukote XT Plus.
Following removal of existing coatings, decontamination and surface preparation. Nukote polyurea is applied in a single coating. Nukote polyurea is touch dry within seconds at all temperatures and can be returned to full service within 24 hours.
Nukote ST or XT Plus polyurea from BSC: Cost-effective, safe, long life.
